Building and Sustaining Indigenous and Stakeholder Trust in Nuclear Regulation
Member States Side Events
Building relationships with indigenous peoples and stakeholders is crucial for the effective, trustworthy and sustainable regulation of the nuclear sector. Early and ongoing relationship building helps to gain understanding of audience values and concerns, provides scientific information about safety in a way that responds to those values, incorporates indigenous knowledge into regulatory activities, and encourages active participation. This event will explore the benefits of and potential challenges in building trust by involving interested parties in the regulatory process throughout the life cycle of a nuclear project or facility. This event is organized by Canada.
This event will be held on Thursday, 28 September 2023, from 1.00 p.m. to 2.00 p.m. in Conference Room M5, M Building, ground floor.
