To effectively monitor and assess environmental contamination by radioactive materials and to predict sources of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere, Member State laboratories need to have optimal and reliable analytical performance. To assist Member States in improving their analytical capacity, the IAEA offers certified reference materials and participation in worldwide proficiency test exercises. This event will provide insights into reference material production and use, worldwide proficiency test exercises, as well as the IAEA’s Analytical Laboratories for the Measurement of Environmental Radioactivity (ALMERA) network and related activities.
