Welcome to the Radiometrics Laboratory. The work done here focuses on marine radioactivity measurement, monitoring and assessment. The laboratory operates radiochemistry and low-level underground counting facilities enabling it to use radionuclides in the marine environment to study environmental and climate change. The Radiometrics lab also produces IAEA Certified Reference Materials and organises proficiency tests and interlaboratory comparisons for radionuclides in marine samples to support data quality worldwide, and maintains an online open-access global database of marine radioactivity data.
