Joint IAEA/IEA Seminar on World Energy Outlook 2011 - Role of Nuclear Power, 24 November 2011
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will host a joint seminar with the International Energy Agency (IEA) on the annual 2011 update of the IEA's World Energy Outlook. The seminar will be held on 24 November 2011 from 10:00 to 11:30 (CET) in room NO on the 1st floor of the Austria Centre Vienna (ACV). Journalists are encouraged to enter through the Austria Centre, although access from the Vienna International Centre will also be possible.
The Seminar is open to all media, including cameras.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will host a Forum of its Member States to consider how the experience of Nuclear-Weapons-Free Zones (NWFZ) in several regions of the world could be relevant to the Middle East. The meeting will begin at 10:00 (CET) on 21 November and is scheduled to end at 13:00 (CET) on 22 November. The Forum will convene in Room M2/M3 of the M Building in the Vienna International Centre (VIC).
The Forum meetings are closed to the press.

Celebrating 50 years of accomplishments in the use of nuclear and isotopic techniques to enhance our understanding of oceanic processes, marine ecosystems and pollution impact.
The IAEA Liaison Office in Geneva is organizing an exhibition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the IAEA Environment Laboratories in Monaco. The exhibition will take place at the Palais des Nations from 10 to 25 November 2011. Experts from the Monaco Laboratories will be in Geneva from 10 to 14 November to explain the work conducted at the laboratories.

Officials from an IAEA international expert mission visiting Japan will hold a briefing for journalists to discuss their mission's preliminary findings. The mission arrived in Japan on 7 October to help the country develop its environmental remediation plans following the 11 March earthquake and tsunami that damaged TEPCO’s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.
The briefing, expected to last one hour, will begin at 18:00 local Japan time on Friday, 14 October 2011, at Japan's Foreign Press Center - 6F Nippon Press Center Building, 2-2-1, Uchisaiwaicho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan.

The International Atomic Energy Agency and the European Commission will celebrate 30 years of cooperation on the control of nuclear materials in a ceremony on Thursday, 13 October at the IAEA headquarters in the Vienna International Center (VIC).
The ceremony will feature IAEA Deputy Director General Herman Nackaerts and Thomas Fanghaenel, Director, the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC). The ceremony will be held on the ground floor of the M-Building in the VIC, at 17:30.

Representatives from the 151 member states of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will meet at the Vienna International Centre (VIC) on Monday, 19 September, for the five-day IAEA annual General Conference to discuss major topics on the organization's agenda.
This year's Scientific Forum, to be held on 20 and 21 September, is entitled Water Matters: Making a Difference with Nuclear Techniques. It will also be held at the VIC.

The IAEA Board of Governors will convene a meeting at the Agency's headquarters starting at 10:30 CET on Monday, 12 September, in Boardroom A of the M-Building, in the Vienna International Centre (VIC).
Director General Yukiya Amano will open the meeting with an introductory statement. His statement will be released to journalists after delivery and posted on the IAEA website the same day. Director General Amano is also expected to hold a Press Conference during the Board's lunch break on Monday, 12 September, in the Press Room of the M-building.

A Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Safety at the IAEA headquarters in Vienna will end Friday, 24 June, with a final plenary session and a joint news conference featuring IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano and Conference President Amb. Antonio Guerreiro of Brazil.

The International Atomic Energy Agency will host a five-day Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Safety from 20 to 24 June, to discuss issues related to improving nuclear safety around the world. Following the 11 March 2011 nuclear accident at TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station in Japan, caused by the Great East Earthquake and Tsunami, the IAEA has led efforts to learn lessons from the accident and to strengthen nuclear safety throughout the world.
