          Description

This publication summarizes the results of a thorough research analysis of various modes of coupling of integrated nuclear desalination systems. In addition, some IAEA Member States have addressed the issue of transport of desalted water. The economic analysis of nuclear desalination with transport of water proved it to be competitive with other energy sources. It is expected that this report will be of use to decision makers and the technical community of interested Member States which are considering using nuclear energy for the desalination of seawater to address potable water requirements.
