Myanmar to Sign Additional Protocol with IAEA
Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, U Wunna Maung Lwin, and IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano will sign an Additional Protocol to the safeguards agreement for that country on 17 September at the Vienna International Centre (VIC).

Representatives from the 159 Member States of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will meet at the Vienna International Centre (VIC) on Monday, 16 September 2013, starting at 10:00 CET, for the five-day IAEA annual General Conference to discuss major topics on the Organization's agenda.
This year's Scientific Forum, to be held on 17 and 18 September 2013, is entitled The Blue Planet - Nuclear Applications for a Sustainable Marine Environment.

The IAEA Board of Governors will convene a meeting at the Agency's Headquarters starting at 10:00 CET on Monday, 9 September 2013 in Boardroom C of the C-Building, in the Vienna International Centre (VIC).
The Board of Governors meeting is closed to the press.
Director General Yukiya Amano will open the meeting with an introductory statement. His statement will be released to journalists after delivery and posted on the IAEA website.

The IAEA Board of Governors will convene a meeting at the Agency's Headquarters starting at 15:00 CEST on Wednesday, 31 July 2013 in Boardroom A of the M-Building, in the Vienna International Centre (VIC). The session will discuss the Agency's Draft Programme and Budget 2014-2015. The Board of Governors meeting is closed to the press. There will be no introductory statement by the Director General, and no News Conference. Photo-Op: There will be a photo opportunity at the beginning of the session.

The International Atomic Energy Agency will host a major International Conference on Nuclear Security from 1 to 5 July 2013 at the IAEA Headquarters in Vienna. The Conference will provide a global forum for ministers, policymakers and senior officials to formulate views on future directions and priorities to strengthen nuclear security.
More than 1?200 participants have registered for the International Conference on Nuclear Security: Enhancing Global Efforts, including some 35 ministers, from about 110 countries and 20 international and regional organizations.

Ms. Starz heads the IAEA's Integrated Nuclear Infrastructure Group and is the lead Scientific Secretary of the Conference.

Más información →IAEA to Designate Capacity Building Centre in Fukushima for Emergency Preparedness and Response
The IAEA, supported by the Government of Japan, will designate a new Response and Assistance Network (RANET) Capacity Building Centre in the city of Fukushima next week.
The Centre will be home to several IAEA activities aimed at enhancing emergency preparedness and response capacity, both in Japan and worldwide, in light of the March 2011 Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident.
