Role of Nuclear Energy in Net Zero Transitions

This event will explore the pivotal role of nuclear energy in achieving global net zero targets. It will feature distinguished speakers from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the Turkish Energy, Nuclear and Mining Research Agency (TENMAK), the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom (ROSATOM). The IAEA will present their latest analysis on nuclear energy’s contribution to sustainable development and climate goals. The representative of TENMAK will share Türkiye’s strategic approach to integrating nuclear power into its clean energy transition and speak about the work that TENMAK is doing to analyse the role of nuclear power in Türkiye’s clean transitions. ?The UNECE representative will discuss regional perspectives on nuclear energy and its role in the broader context of sustainable energy transitions, including newcomer countries. The speaker from ROSATOM will speak about challenges in development of national and international climate regulation to make low-carbon nuclear energy more efficient as per its role for NetZero.?
