In this interactive Q&A session, the IAEA will discuss the potential of new sustainable finance mechanisms and instruments to unlock investment in clean energy technologies, including nuclear energy. The role of green bonds and loans, carbon markets, including opportunities under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, clean energy certificates and other instruments will be discussed.

Taisiya Afanasyeva works as Energy Economist at the International Atomic Energy Agency. Taisiya holds PhD in Law and has over 10 years of experience working in both the energy and financing sectors, specializing in ESG compliance. Since joining the Agency, Taisiya’s work has been focused on the role of nuclear energy in climate change mitigation and sustainable financing instruments, as well as green taxonomies and similar policy documents. Before joining the IAEA, Taisiya worked at the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom and the Export Credit Agency of Russia.?
