This course describes the ten IAEA fundamental safety principles and their application to these areas; the development of policy and strategies for managing radioactive waste; explains why policy and strategy need to be established in this field and describe their content; and talks about legal, institutional and regulatory framework, roles and responsibilities in radioactive waste management and funding.
