This event will discuss the challenges and implications of low-carbon transitions, including for very ambitious net zero targets. Starting from an analysis of recent energy transition scenarios to set the scene, the discussion will address the issues of system costs, life cycle assessment and climate change resilience. IAEA analysis on the contribution of nuclear power to such transitions will be discussed in this context.
