This event will present some of the many successes that Iraq has achieved in collaboration with the IAEA’s technical cooperation programme. These successes have contributed to solutions to many challenges faced by Iraq, such as addressing radioactive contamination in Iraq’s southern provinces, the decommissioning of nuclear facilities and sites, the development of Iraq’s regulatory authority and the recovery of orphan sources. The technical cooperation programme is also assisting Iraq in addressing a significant growth in cancer incidence through capacity building and the transfer of technology needed to diagnose and treat cancer. This event is organized by Iraq.
