This event will present the scope, objectives, governance, organizational structure and future activities of the European Industrial Alliance on Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), launched on 6 February 2024. The alliance aims to mobilize and establish closer cooperation among SMR stakeholders to accelerate the development, demonstration and deployment of SMRs in Europe by the early 2030s.

The event will cover, inter alia, the following points:

• The structure of the alliance in terms of technical and project working groups
• Governance, working methods and main tasks/ deliverables
• Collaboration with the European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group
• Collaboration with international initiatives in the field of SMRs (e.g. the IAEA’s Nuclear Harmonization and Standardization Initiative)

This event is organized by EURATOM.
