With a revitalized interest in nuclear energy, the Government of Canada has signalled its full support through extensive tax incentives available to nuclear energy and manufacturing in the 2023 federal budget, and an additional investment of $970 million in Ontario Power Generation’s first of a kind GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy small modular reactor (SMR) project. This event will cover updates on Canada’s newbuild announcements, the refurbishment projects for Darlington and Bruce, the national nuclear waste strategy, and the fuel cycle.
