This side event will explore the serious and growing threat posed by attacks and threats of attacks against nuclear sites and facilities. It will examine the multifaceted implications of such unlawful acts for international peace and security and the integrity of the global nuclear non-proliferation regime. The discussion will address the legal, technical, and political dimensions of these acts, with particular emphasis on their consequences for the inalienable right of Member States to develop and use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. The event aims to highlight the urgent need to ensure the inviolability and protection of nuclear sites and facilities. This event is organized by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
