Where is it?
The IAEA Visitor Centre is located in Seibersdorf, Austria, less than an hour away from Vienna.
Who can visit?
The IAEA Visitor Centre is open only to groups. Individual visitors cannot register.
How do I register?
A teacher, professor or institutional representative must complete the online registration form on behalf of the group. Only one form is needed per group.
When are tours offered?
Tours take place twice a week — Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons — and can last up to 2 hours. Ad hoc dates for guided tours can be offered based on justification.?
What if my preferred date is unavailable?
Don’t worry, if your requested slot is full, the IAEA Visitor Centre team will suggest alternative dates.
Can I visit on my own?
No — tours are available to be booked by group only, arranged in advance. Self-guided visits are not available.
What will we see?
Interactive exhibits provide immersive experiences on how the safe, secure and peaceful uses of nuclear science, techniques and applications benefit health, food security, energy, the environment and much more. Groups may also request visits to selected IAEA laboratories onsite.

Depending on availability, visits may include:

Do you offer lectures or talks with scientists?
The IAEA Visitor Centre is designed for educational introductions, not advanced research seminars. Requests for specialized lectures can be noted in your registration but are subject to staff availability.
What do we need to bring?
Just bring comfortable shoes and a valid photo ID for security.
Are there security requirements?
Yes. As the Centre is part of an operating nuclear facility, all visitors must be pre-registered. Group leaders must provide a full list of participants in advance, and visitors should bring valid photo ID.
Is the Visitor Centre accessible for people with limited mobility?
Yes — the Centre is designed to be accessible to all visitors. Please let us know in advance if your group has specific requirements.
What languages are tours available in?
All exhibits are in English. Guided tours are available in English or German.
Is parking available?
Yes. Free parking for buses and cars is available on-site.
Can the IAEA provide transport?
In some cases, the IAEA can arrange bus transport for groups. Please indicate this on your registration form.
Is there a cost for visiting?
No, tours of the IAEA Visitor Centre are free of charge.
Can we take photos or video?
Photography for personal use is allowed inside the IAEA Visitor Centre. Filming may require prior approval. Please confirm with your guide before starting.
Do you provide resources for teachers and schools?
Yes. Tours are designed to complement STEM learning. Teachers can request additional educational resources to use before or after their visit.
I can’t visit in person — are there other ways to learn?
Absolutely! The IAEA offers a wide range of resources online to help students and teachers explore nuclear science and its applications. The IAEA also shares stories and updates on its official social media channels and YouTube, making it easy to follow along from anywhere in the world.
