Photo-op as IAEA Team Departs Vienna for Beijing en Route to DPRK for Verification and Monitoring Mission
There will be a photo opportunity from 16:00 at the Vienna International Airport in the check-in area of the departure hall, prior to an IAEA team′s departure for Beijing, en route to the Democratic Peoples′ Republic of Korea.
There will also be photo opportunities in Beijing when the team arrives at 11:30, local time on Friday, 13 July, and at 08:30 when it departs for Pyongyang on Saturday, 14 July.

Following receipt of an invitation today from the Democratic People′s Republic of Korea an IAEA team will travel to the DPRK within the next few days.
The team will implement arrangements agreed between the IAEA and the DPRK and approved by the Agency′s Board of Governors to undertake verification and monitoring of the shutdown and sealing of DPRK′s Yongbyong nuclear facilities.

The IAEA Board of Governors will convene a regular meeting in the Agency′s Headquarters at 10:30 on Monday, 11 June 2007, in the IAEA Boardroom, C04, in the Vienna International Centre.
The Annual Report for 2006, Technical Cooperation Report for 2006, the Agency′s draft Programme and Budget for 2008-2009, as well as current safeguards implementation issues, are among the topics the 35-nation Board will discuss.

Knowledge about civilian nuclear technologies and applications, representing billions of dollars of investment, is at risk of being permanently lost, delegates to an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) organized conference in Vienna starting on 18 June will be informed. The four-day conference seeks to raise awareness about the problem. The meeting is open to the press.
As well as technical information, so-called nuclear knowledge embraces the insights, capabilities and skills of people working in nuclear related activities.

IAEA Director General, Dr. Mohamed ElBaradei, has called for the development and implementation of a new collective security paradigm in which no country relies on nuclear weapons for its security.
Speaking at the International Conference on the Prevention of Nuclear Catastrophe, held in Luxembourg on 24 May 2007, Dr. ElBaradei warned the audience that the prospects for progress in preventing nuclear catastrophe will remain grim unless the international community begins working on a new security regime.

There will be a photo opportunity at the Vienna International Airport as Dr. Mohamed ElBaradei leaves for his trip to Beijing, China and the Democratic People′s Republic of Korea.
Camera crews may assemble on Sunday, 11 March 2007 in time for his expected arrival 12:15 outside the VIP Lounge Salon Lehar, Aviator Center (main building), at the Vienna International Airport.
