In this presentation, an overview of the Legal Framework for IAEA Safeguards is provided by the IAEA Director General and the Office of Legal Affairs of the IAEA Secretariat. The presentation covers the important legal instruments that provide the mandate for the IAEA’s work in the area of safeguards, including the IAEA Statute, Project and Supply Agreements, Safeguards Agreements, Small Quantities Protocols and Additional Protocols, as well as the IAEA’s legislative assistance in these areas and gender equality.?
