Science and technology are crucial for development. Nuclear science plays a significant role in the achievement of many of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially in the fields of health, hunger, energy and the environment. By transferring technology and expertise, the IAEA helps countries address everyday challenges with the help of nuclear science.

The 2016 IAEA Scientific Forum highlights the contribution of nuclear technology to the SDGs.
