          How Nuclear Technology Contributes to Development in the South – Interview with Kwaku Aning

          The fifth Global South-South Development Expo opens at Vienna's Hofburg Palace on 19 November 2012. This annual five-day event is being hosted by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), in conjunction with more than 20 UN agencies and partners. The aim of the exhibition is to show how developing countries are working together and exchanging knowledge to find solutions to address the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The IAEA is taking part in the event, displaying how the Agency is active in supporting and promoting the use of nuclear science and technology in addressing a wide range of development challenges. IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation, Mr. Kwaku Aning, discusses the role of the IAEA in development issues.
