          Press Arrangements for 53rd IAEA General Conference

          2009/16

          Senior representatives of the 150 Member States of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will meet at the Vienna International Centre (VIC) on Monday, 14 September, for the five-day annual IAEA General Conference to discuss major topics on the organization′s agenda.

          All plenary sessions of the General Conference and the Scientific Forum will be open to the press. They will also be streamed live through the IAEA website.

          The Scientific Forum on 15 and 16 September, which is being held for the 12th time, is aimed at stimulating discussion on Energy for Development.

          Details about the Provisional Agenda, the General Conference and the Scientific Forum are available on the IAEA website.

          Most events will take place in the M Building of the Vienna International Centre.

          Accreditation:

          Journalists wishing to cover the event must register online or email Ms. Evelyn Prinz-Ortiz or call [43-1] 2600-21276 or [43-1] 2600-21273.

          Accreditation will be at the Gate 1 entrance to the VIC. All journalists will be required daily to clear security in the container at the VIC exit from the U-1 subway station before entering Gate 1.

          You will be required to present a valid press I.D. and credentials at the accreditation counter, which will be open from 14:30 to 18:30 on Sunday, 13 September 2009. You can also seek accreditation from 08:00 on Monday, 14 September.

          TV Crews arriving by car can park in the VIC parking lot and should inform Ms. Evelyn Prinz-Ortiz, (tel.: [43-1] 2600-21276 or [43-1] 2600-21273), in advance, of your names, affiliations and vehicle license plate numbers. Advance notice of satellite trucks is required.
