This joint side event, organized by the COP29 Presidency of Azerbaijan and the IAEA, will provide an opportunity to recall the major outcomes of the first Global Stocktake [under the Paris Agreement] calling on Parties to accelerate low-emission technologies including nuclear power as part of the UAE Consensus and build on political momentum established at COP28 and the First Nuclear Energy Summit. The event will showcase the ambitious vision and plans of the COP29 Presidency of Azerbaijan and the commitment of the IAEA to partner with the Presidency and other stakeholders to maintain and build momentum towards inclusive and ambitious outcomes at COP29. This event is jointly organized by Azerbaijan and the IAEA.
