Supporting Ukraine to Ensure Transitional Nuclear Safety and Security
Member States Side Events
The international community has called for the return of illegally seized nuclear facilities to Ukraine. Recognizing the unprecedented nuclear safety and security challenges involved in such a transition, the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy included radiation and nuclear safety as an element of his Peace Formula, and Czechia, France, Japan and Sweden have taken the lead in this regard. A meeting in Prague considered the key challenges facing Ukraine as it resumes responsibility for Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant and other facilities. This joint event will take stock of these efforts and the support provided to Ukraine in the field of nuclear safety and security. This event is organized by Sweden.
This event will be held on Thursday, 19 September 2024, from 1.00 p.m. to 2.00 p.m. in Conference Room CR3, C Building, seventh floor.
