This event will discuss Radiation Safety in the Use of Radiation Sources in Research and Education (Safety Guide No. SSG-87) and the IAEA’s continuous efforts to promote partnerships among nuclear education and training institutions worldwide, showcasing its support to schools, colleges, universities and national regulators to implement nuclear education and research through guidance on the safe handling of radioactive materials.

Presentations will address capacity-building efforts for more effective, hands-on learning and how to engage and encourage young people in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) — the next generation of experts, researchers, leaders, trainers, teachers and lecturers in the nuclear field.

This event will be held on Wednesday, 27 September 2023, from 12.30 p.m. to 1.30 p.m. in Conference Room M7, M Building, ground floor.
