Regional Workshop to Promote the Universalization of the Amendment to the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material

The purpose of the event is to promote adherence to the Amendment to the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material (CPPNM) and to support implementation of the CPPNM and its Amendment through the exchange of views and experiences of States in the region.The workshop is open to all Pacific Island states and selected island states in the Indian Ocean. Participation is open to a maximum of three participants per country. Designated participants should be officials of national governments with responsibility for the CPPNM and the Amendment thereto. Preference will be given to one parlimentarian, one representative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and one representative from the line ministry or a national authority that is responsible for the adherence or implementation of the CPPNM and its Amendment.
