General uses
It is used in radioisotope thermoelectric generators and in the production of 238Pu power sources in artificial pacemakers. It is also present in spent nuclear fuel

It has a short half-life of 18.1 years and is used to produce 238Pu.
Risks
Curium-24 is strongly absorbed via inhalation, promoting pulmonary and liver cancer.
