Technical Meeting on GlobalStatus of Decommissioning – Second Phase

          EVT2503664

          7 – 10 April 2026, Vienna, AT

The Global Status of Decommissioning –Second Phase project is dedicated to collecting and analysing comprehensive data on nuclear decommissioning activities across nuclear power plants, research reactors and nuclear fuel cycle facilities worldwide. This data, which is not widely available, offers invaluable insight into various aspects of decommissioning, and serves the needs of policy makers, facility managers, government officials, implementing organizations, the general public and the media. The project specifically tracks global trends, supply chain dynamics, workforce competencies, technological progress, and the significant costs associated with decommissioning.

The meeting will focus on reviewing preliminary survey findings, discussing updates regarding national decommissioning programmes, and evaluating methodologies for data analysis and visualization. Furthermore, it aims to facilitate the exchange of national experiences and best practices, and to propose structured approaches for ongoing and future data collection.

          Benefits of Participation:
Gain exclusive insights into global decommissioning trends, share and learn from national experiences, contribute to shaping future data collection approaches, and network with international experts and peers. The meeting can be attended in person or virtually via Microsoft Teams, allowing broad participation.

Participation is open to designated representatives of IAEA Member States and invited organizations. Registration is through the InTouch+ platform https://intouchplus.iaea.org via your competent national authority by 13 February 2026.

The meeting will be held from 7 to 10April 2026, at the IAEA’s Headquarters, Vienna, Austria.
