Around 870 staff from nearly 100 countries make up the IAEA’s Department of Safeguards, of which a core group of about 275 inspectors are regularly deployed for on-site verification activities. IAEA safeguards are scientifically based and deploy state-of-the-art technologies. This edition of the IAEA Bulletin offers a glimpse into that work.
