The March 2000 IAEA Bulletin edition looks at the progress made in a number of peaceful uses of nuclear technology, including food security, medicine, and pest control. The IAEA plays a central role in research and technology transfer in those areas. However, the technical assistance it provides to Member States needs to be re-examined.
