          Objectives

          To support participating Member States — as embarking and expanding countries — to develop or to update the required infrastructure for a safe, secure and sustainable nuclear power programme. The project will cover all 19 issues described in the Milestones document and will focus on key stages of a nuclear power programme, as well as key stakeholders in Member States, including: (i) ministries;(ii) governments and NEPIOs; (iii) regulatory bodies; (iv) operating organizations; (v) entities involved in emergency preparedness and response; (vi) waste management organizations,; (vii) academia; (viii) industry; and (ix) other entities as appropriate. The support provided to the Member States will be mainly through manpower training and reservation. The project will also foster the sharing of information and networking among Member States and will address the specifics of the infrastructure for small modular reactors (SMRs), when appropriate.
