Improving Knowledge of the Levels and Effects of Ionizing Radiation through Synergies between Euratom and the United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation (UNSCEAR)
Member States Side Events
There are clear synergies between the objectives of the Euratom research and training programme and the programme of the United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation (UNSCEAR). Both programmes focus on evaluating and monitoring radiation sources, assessing the levels and effects of human exposure to natural or human-made sources; conducting environmental radiation monitoring; and developing reference measurements and materials for radiation assessment and other scientific information relevant to radiation protection. These synergies and complementarities are further strengthened through the collaboration of both entities with research institutions and international organizations. These partners will be invited to participate in the event and share their insights on advancing collective knowledge in radiation science and protection. This event is organized by EURATOM.
This event will be held on Wednesday, 18 September 2024, from 4.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. in Conference Room M6, M Building, ground floor.
