          Regulatory Cooperation Forum

          The Regulatory Cooperation Forum (RCF) is a member-driven forum of nuclear safety regulators. The Forum promotes the sharing of regulatory knowledge and experience through international cooperation with the goal of achieving a high level of nuclear safety that is consistent with the IAEA safety standards.

          The RCF comprises countries with advanced nuclear power programmes and countries that are planning to expand or introduce the use of nuclear power.

          The RCF aims to:

          • Promote collaboration and cooperation among RCF members to improve coordination of IAEA and other international support for regulatory infrastructure development;
          • Contribute to achieving and sustaining a high level of nuclear safety that is consistent with the IAEA safety standards; and
          • Optimise resources among RCF members and improve coordination of IAEA and other international support to ensure that it is complementary.

          Membership

          The RCF is open to all IAEA Member States. Senior regulatory body representatives take part in Forum meetings, which also include representatives from the IAEA, the European Commission (EC) and the Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

          Since January 2023, the RCF comprises the following members and observers:

          Bangladesh, Belarus, Canada, Chile, China, Egypt, the European Commission, Finland, France, Germany, Ghana, the IAEA, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, the NEA, Pakistan, Poland, Republic of Korea, the Russian Federation, South Africa, Sudan, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States of America and Viet Nam.
