The IAEA Marine Environment Laboratories in Monaco use nuclear techniques to investigate the effect of pollution on the marine ecosystem, the ability of underwater species to grow and thrive, and ultimately man's continued ability to depend on the sea for food and income. IAEA scientist Jean-Louis Teyssié explains how he and his colleagues use lung fish, sharks and mussels to understand pollution's effects.
