IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano and Sergei Kirienko, Head of Russia′s Nuclear Energy State Corporation (Rosatom), will sign on Monday, 29 March, an agreement to establish a reserve of low-enriched uranium (LEU) in Russia.
In November, the IAEA Board of Governors authorized the Director General to conclude this agreement with the Russian Federation. The LEU reserve is being established to protect Member States from possible supply disruptions unrelated to technical or commercial considerations.

Only photographers and camera operators may attend the signing ceremony, to be held at the IAEA Headquarters on Monday, 29 March 2010, at 11:00. Please assemble at the bottom of A Tower of the Vienna International Center at 10:30. No comments will be made to the media during the ceremony.
