An UNMOVIC missile team returned to the Taji Technical Battalion and supervised the destruction of 3 more Al Samoud 2 missiles, 9 warheads, one launcher as well as some propellant tanks. Another missile team went back to the Waziriyah plant and inventoried and destroyed small components for the Al Samoud 2 missile. The destroyed components were sent to Taji for disposal.

Since the commencement of the destruction process on 1 March, a total of 55 Al Samoud 2 missiles have been destroyed, along with 28 warheads, two casting chambers, two launchers, 5 engines, tools and special equipment to produce the Al Samoud 2 engine, computer software to launch the missile, small components, and several propellant tanks.

UNMOVIC sought a private interview with an Iraqi researcher in the chemical field today. However, the researcher insisted that the interview be tape-recorded. The interview, therefore, did not proceed. This was the fifth case since 28 February in which a private interview did not take place due to a condition insisted upon by the interviewee. 9 private interviews have taken place since 28 February.

As of today, we have approximately 180 international staff, including 71 inspectors, in Iraq. We also have 34 local staff. 12 inspectors are on a short break in Larnaca, Cyprus, and will be back in Iraq after the break.

UNMOVIC's working document entitled "Unresolved Disarmament Issues: Iraq's proscribed weapons programmes", which was declassified and provided to Security Council members, is now posted on the UNMOVIC website. The website address is: http://www.un.org/en/peacekeeping?.
