Interregional Workshop on Nuclear Security Management for Research Reactors and Related Facilities

Research reactors comprise a wide variety of facilities in terms of objectives, power levels, fuel and complexity. This variety introduces different security concerns and considerations when compared with other types of nuclear facility. In that context, the objective of this event is to assist Member States to enhance and maintain their national physical protection regimes, in particular nuclear security of the research reactors. The event will also facilitate the exchange of information among Member States on best practices related to the protection of research reactors.

The event is intended for participants from IAEA Member States who are nuclear research reactor operators, regulatory bodies, or from competent authorities and related law enforcement agencies with responsibilities related to the security of nuclear materials and other radioactive materials.
