Technical Meeting on Embedding Leadership within the Nuclear Organization

The purpose of the event is to provide a forum for participants from nuclear energy programme implementing organizations, owner/operators and regulatory bodies to actively build the strengths and sustainability of their nuclear power plants. It will provide the participants with the skills and practices needed to improve the transfer of leadership, as well as training and development efforts in the daily work of their nuclear organizations.

In particular, the meeting will demonstrate the strength of immersive development activity in developing human and organizational performance and define a path forward collectively across the industry in how we embed these critical human performance capabilities within the nuclear workforce.

Intent:

• Create a cooperative (co-operative, or Co-op) across our international organizations toward human performance/workforce/resilience/leadership development through immersive, experiential means
• Ground the cooperative in APPLIED, EXPERIENTIAL, IMMERSIVE learning and development efforts; a “show me” as opposed to “Tell me” focused reflection and development experience
• Integrate strong Member State development programs to partner with the full international community and serve as partner delivery hubs

Goals:

• Establish a robust and agile nuclear workforce together, rather than in competition for this pool of talent
• Strategically and thoughtfully build the transferable human performance capabilities that foster human and organizational resilience through immersive practice, reflection, and application
• Embed resilience (networked competence and agility) into human and organizational performance to better ensure we achieve our ambitious industry goals
  All persons wishing to participate in the event have to be designated by an IAEA Member State or should be members of organizations that have been invited to attend.
