Representatives from the 151 member states of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will meet at the VIC on Monday, 20 September, for the five-day IAEA annual General Conference to discuss major topics on the organization's agenda.
All plenary sessions of the General Conference and the Scientific Forum will be open to the press. They will also be streamed live through the IAEA website.

The Scientific Forum on 21 and 22 September is entitled Cancer in Developing Countries: Facing the Challenge. It will be held at the Austria Center Vienna (ACV).

Details about the General Conference, the Provisional Agenda, and the Scientific Forum are available on the IAEA website. The IAEA press office will distribute a schedule of special briefings to be offered to the media.

Most of the main conference events will take place in the M-Building of the VIC.

At the entrance to the M-Building, visiting journalists will find a Press Counter which will be staffed throughout the week. Twenty meters from that point is the Press Briefing and Working Area which is equipped with open internet access.

Accreditation will be at the Gate 1 entrance to the VIC. All journalists will be required daily to clear security in the container at the VIC exit from the U-1 subway station before entering Gate 1. Please note that badges can only be issued at Gate 1.

You will be required to present a valid press I.D. and credentials at the accreditation counter, which will be open from 14:30 to 18:30 on Sunday, 19 September 2010. You can also seek accreditation from 08:00 on Monday, 20 September.
